The Chosen
A theatrical adaptation of the beloved Chaim Potok novel, The Chosen examines existential and philosophical crises of 1940s Jewry – World War II, the revelation of the Holocaust, the growth and ultimate success of the Zionist project – through the eyes of two young boys in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, one a Modern Orthodox math whiz and the other a Hasidic savant, who strike up an unlikely friendship after a heated baseball match. As the boys mature, they are forced by circumstance to contend with difficult lessons about their worlds, their faith and their people.
