Viral Political Garbage: Garbage Pail Kids & Internet and Social Media

The shift in political discourse from traditional mass media to the internet over the past two decades, and more specifically to social media, has played a significant role in the continued use of the Garbage Pail Kids model by satirists as both a visual and textual platform for political satire. This session will focus on grassroots visual political satire that parodies both Israeli and American politics.
