These educational guides, created for Israel’s national days, draw on the Beit Avi Chai exhibition My Life at the Moment, featuring works by Jerusalem artists Meydad Eliyahu, Raya Bruckenthal, Noga Greenberg, Elkana Levi, and Alon Kedem. In a time marked by ongoing conflict, they offer a variety of creative and reflective tools, including observation prompts, discussion questions, and hands-on art activities. By connecting contemporary experiences to the historical tradition of artistic self-representation, the guides encourage participants to explore how private and public identities coexist and to consider the tensions, responsibilities, and dualities of life in today’s world.
The exhibition takes its title from a line by the Jerusalem poet Israel Eliraz, who urged individuals to look at reality through art, to isolate each possible moment with all the contradictions and emotions it carries. In this spirit, the guides provide space for thoughtful engagement with complex realities without demanding immediate answers.
