The Origins of Ancient Israel

The biblical text describes the conquest settlement of the Land of Canaan, including a detailed itinerary. Modern day archaeologists have found evidence of settlement in many places, but much less of a preceding conquest. We will examine the various hypotheses proposed over the years to account for these discrepancies and Dr. Ilan will propose an alternate reconstruction of the process of Israelite settlement.
